Brief History of the Library




Federal Medical Centre Keffi Library opened officially in August 2008 with the appointment of a professional librarian, Mr Andrew Zakari who was assisted by two library assistant/attendant to kick start the library.
The library has since grown in leaps and bounds. The main objective of the library is research, reference, information, study and preservation with the objective of supporting or assisting in the realization the centre’s vision and mission. 
The Library is responsible for providing library services i.e. acquiring, processing, organizing and providing access to information resources and materials to users. The library runs two shift,(Monday – Sunday) 8am – 9pm.


The library achieve the following during the year under review
  •   Creation of E-library, in order to provide electronic easy access to reference resources like  encyclopedias and soft copies of textbooks available.
  •   Creation of data base for all Library collections 
  •    Introduce SDI/CAS, Indexing and Abstracting services to help users easily access information resources. 
  •      Acquire more book and Journals
  •      Created Library weblog
  •      Established O&G Departmental Library
